ACTIVEH is a non-profit organization founded in 2011 by three Haitian students: Daphnee Charles, Ronel Lefranc and Anne Martine Augustin , following their participation in the WISE Learners' Voice program with the mission to mobilize the passion and potential of Haitian students and young professionals as a force of change for Haiti. What started as a student initiative has grown into a comprehensive ecosystem serving 1000+ students and young professionals annually across Haiti. It is the first nationwide internship and volunteering program in Haiti initiated by students for students In addition to providing students with important workforce experience and skills, it also creates solid bonds between the local/rural communities and the student community. With university enrollment in Haiti at only 1%, university interns and volunteers are models for the children they work with in vulnerable areas and contribute much-needed skills to low-budget organizations that are operating in those areas. Our volunteers contributed more than 50,000 hours, and 96% report gaining new skills through their volunteering activities.
Our mission is to equip young Haitian Professionals with the skills, networks, and opportunities they need to excel in their careers and actively contribute to the development of their communities through a holistic pathway of professional development and civic engagement. ACTIVEH aims to create an environment where Haitian Youth can: We truly believe that: 1. Volunteering and Community Engagement: through which ACTIVEH mobilizes students and young professionals and engages them in volunteering and a range of community service initiatives, including Good Deeds Day projects, Environmental actions (Action-Eco), and ACTIVEH-Explore. Members contribute 20,000+ volunteer hours annually while developing their leadership, civic engagement, and important skills.
2. Internship & Professional Placement: which connects students with hands-on professional experience with partner organizations and companies across Haiti. Since 2013, ACTIVEH has facilitated 1,000+ internship and employment opportunities in different sectors. 3. Leadership and Professional Development: which complements students' university curriculum with a comprehensive program covering employability skills, digital competencies, continuous learning (MOOCs), English club, mentorship, international exchanges, entrepreneurship, and active citizenship training, preparing complete professionals for Haiti's transformation. + Resource Center (Supporting Infrastructure): Provides members with essential infrastructure, including high-speed internet, professional computers, workspace, and printing services backed by a stable, clean energy source (solar power). A dedicated space where students and young professionals access online resources, apply for opportunities, and develop their skills.
